Art & Design

At WHSS, art and design projects are carefully sequenced to develop students’ skills in visual elements, art forms, and movements.

Projects are aligned with other subjects for meaningful connections, like linking "Beautiful Botanicals" with science. Seasonal considerations are made for outdoor activities, while colour theory is revisited and expanded each autumn with progressively more complex projects. Students can work towards the Bronze Arts Award by building portfolios, and the scheme aligns with the national curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded approach to art education.
