Connor's story
Connor joined The William Henry Smith School in December 2023 as part of our New Beginnings provision. Connor has thrived in our therapeutic learning environments and is a happy and settled young boy. The multidisciplinary approach Connor has received has allowed him to develop both his confidence and self-esteem, alongside, providing him with lifelong tools for success beyond the drive.
Connor engages well in our broad balanced curriculum and has demonstrated a preference towards the abundance of creative and outdoor opportunities our school offers. Connor is a regular at our school farm, contributing to the environment by planting flowers and caring for our animals. He has also, with the support of his teacher, developed the role play area within New Beginnings, by creating a post office for his class to use.
The success of Connor doesn’t stop at school, with his life at home also going from strength to strength. Connor’s carers shared that he would love to stay in school 24/7 and “is the only child they know, who is sad when the holidays and weekends arrive.”
